QUESTAR OVERTHRUST WAMSUTTER PIPELINE EXPANSION (EAST DELIVERIES) – Questar Overthrust Pipeline Company (QOPC) has completed the construction of its Wamsutter Expansion. This 77-mile pipeline project and associated facilities extends from the eastern terminus of Overthrust’s transmission system at Kanda in Sweetwater County, Wyo., to an interconnect with the Rockies Express Pipeline, LLC (REX) system near Wamsutter in Sweetwater County, Wyo. This project provides additional capacity of 750,000 Dth/day which is fully subscribed. The project finished construction on December 15, 2007. QUESTAR PIPELINE SOUTHERN SYSTEM EXPANSION PHASE 2 – Questar Pipeline Company is pleased to announce that its Southern System Expansion Project (SSXP Phase II) commenced service on November 1, 2007. Shippers who subscribed for expansion capacity began nominating their gas on October 26, 2007. This project provides an additional 175,000 Dth/d of capacity for delivery to an existing interconnect with Kern River Gas Transmission at Goshen, Utah, as well as other delivery points serving Wasatch Front markets. Questar Pipeline would like to express its appreciation to the firm shippers who supported this project.
Questar Pipeline received praise from the BLM during the construction of this pipeline for minimizing the visual impact of the new pipeline where the pipeline is adjacent to a National Scenic Backcountry Byway.
Questar Pipeline is committed to responsible development of natural gas transmission infrastructure. This vital project is now a reality and we would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the assistance and advice we received from federal, state and local regulatory agencies and many other interested parties. Questar Pipeline Southern System Expansion – Questar Pipeline installed 18.7 miles of new 24-inch-diameter steel high-pressure pipe adjacent to a section of its existing pipeline north of Price. The project added 102,000 decatherms per day (more than a million cubic feet) of new capacity to Questar Pipeline's Southern System. This entire additional capacity is fully subscribed with more than half destined for Utah Power's new Currant Creek electric generating plant near Mona, Utah. However, all 102,000 decatherms per day of capacity can be delivered to Kern River Gas Transmission Company's system at Goshen. QUESTAR PIPELINE CURRANT CREEK LATERAL – Questar Pipeline installed a 13.4 mile 20-inch high pressure steel pipeline extending south from the end of Main Line 104 to PacifiCorp’s new 525-megawatt power plant located near Mona, Utah. The Current Creek Lateral (JTL 113) has a daily delivery capacity of 190,000 decatherms. This lateral was placed into service in April 2005. QUESTAR OVERTHRUST DELIVERIES TO KERN RIVER GAS TRANSMISSION AT PAINTER – Questar Overthrust Pipeline Company recently completed the installation of facilities to deliver an additional 220,000 decatherms per day into Kern River Gas Transmission's Painter lateral. The entire capacity was fully subscribed through an open season that culminated in a competitive online bidding procedure that took place in August 2005. The facilities were placed into service in late December 2005. QUESTAR OVERTHRUST EXPANSION TO OPAL (WEST DELIVERIES) – Questar Overthrust Pipeline Company has installed approximately 21 miles of 36-inch-diameter steel high-pressure pipeline up to the Roberson Creek and installed an additional 6.1 miles of 36-inch-diameter steel high-pressure pipeline up to the Kern River Gas Transmission near Opal. This project was placed in to service on January 1, 2007. Questar Overthrust Pipeline has the ability to deliver up to 450,000 decatherms per day to Kern River Gas Transmission at Opal. Additional unsubscribed capacity is available from various Overthrust receipt points as well as interconnecting pipelines including WIC, CIG and Questar.
