REQUIREMENTS AND BASICS

For optimal performance, the following minimum computer and service requirements are recommended:

  • Windows 95, 98, ME or Windows NT4.0, 2000, XP
  • Pentium 90mHz processor or greater
  • 20MB of free hard disk space
  • 32 MB RAM or greater
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 with Service Pack 1, or greater
  • IBM compatible PC and modem capable of operating at a minimum rate of 56,000 baud.
  • Access to the internet

Firewall Settings
If you are using an ISP (Internet Service Provider), the firewall settings are not necessary. If, however, your company has a direct connection to the Internet protected using a firewall, the ports 80 (inbound & outbound).

Monitor settings
Your monitor should be set to a resolution of at least 1024 X 768 pixels with a minimum of 256 colors.

Browser settings
QuestLine requires the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 with Service Pack 1, or greater. In addition, four settings on the client browser must be made. The settings are made in the Internet Explorer Properties section of the browser.

To access the Internet Explorer Properties, right click the Internet Explorer (IE) icon and select Properties from the pop-up box.  If IE is currently running, select Tools then Internet Options from the menu bar.

From the General tab, click Settings on Temporary Internet files, select the radio button for Every visit to the page.

Select the Security tab, Click on Internet Zone and select Custom level.  Scroll down the options to Active X Controls and Plugins.  Click on the first, fourth and fifth radio buttons to enable these three Active X Controls and Plugins settings.  Scroll down the options to Cookies.  Click on either the enable or prompt radio button on both Cookie settings.  Click OK to enable the changes. 

Select the Advanced tab.  Scroll down to Microsoft VM.  The Java Console Enabled option box should be un-checked.  Click OK, and the browser should be properly configured.  If the browser is currently running, close it and re-open to ensure all changes will take effect.
