Monitor Settings

Your monitor should be set to a resolution of at least 1024 X 768 pixels with a minimum of 256 colors.

Browser Settings

Pop-Up Blocker: If a pop-up blocker is enabled http:/contracting.questar.com must be included in the list of allowed sites. Reports will not launch from within the application without this change.

Reuse Windows for Launching Shortcuts: If this option is enabled, whatever is being viewed in a browser window will be replaced if the user clicks on any links in e-mails or other documents. It is recommended this option is not checked in the Advanced tab of the Internet Explorer properties box.

Installing JInitiator or Sun JVM

The JRE should download and install automatically. This process should not take more than 10 minutes depending depending on the speed of your Internet connection. If the JRE does not download automatically it can be downloaded and installed manually here:

Known Issues and Work-Arounds

JRE Compatibility Issues: JInitiator 1.3.1.22 is not compatible with some updates of the Sun JRE version 1.5. In this instance the Sun JRE will attempt to load instead of JInitiator. If errors or problems persist, uninstall the Sun client or launch the application with the Sun JVM.

Dual Monitor Workstations: The QuestLine Contracting System should be launched from the primary monitor when using workstations configured with dual monitors and Oracle JInitiator.
